This year was again a busy year for Van der Vliet, after a successful 2016. Our specialism paid off, as almost all yachts sold were Dutch build and Dutch designed. Let’s have a look at some of the highlights, facts and figures of the past year!
Sales of 2017
In 2017 Van der Vliet was involved in 10% of the worldwide brokerage sales of Dutch build or designed yachts between 24 and 50 meters, according to the sales data of Boat International.
Our core business are Dutch build & designed yachts from 18 up to 50 meters.
World-wide clients & network
This year we have listed and sold yachts from all over the world, from the USA to Asia and from Europe to South-Africa.
Our effective e-marketing tools, expertise since 1975 and knowledge of Dutch build and designed yachts, enables us to thouroughly advice our clients. Also our database and network we have build over the years, helps us to find the right buyer or seller in the shortest possible time and to offer vast world-wide service.
In May we announced the sale of the Nordia 2040-70’ trawler motorsailor, within 3 months of the start of the marketing campaign!
Both seller and buyer were in-house clients of Van der Vliet Dutch Quality Yachts.
Some interesting facts:
• The yacht was ordered for sale end of December.
• Sales preperations, professional photo shoot and specifications early February.
• Start marketing campaign medio February.
• 94 international clients showed an interest in the yacht.
• An experienced client who was already listed in the VdV database purchased the yacht.
Again it has been proven that the dedicated VdV service and specialism since 1975 pays off.
The Moonen 85 LRC motor yacht (left photo) was sold for the 2nd time so far by Van der Vliet Dutch Quality Yachts in June. This deal we closed directly between Purchaser and Seller as both are in-house clients. This transaction highlighted the 46th Moonen that we have sold over the years!
Later that year we were able to close the sale of the Vripack Research Model 69 (middle photo) directly between Purchaser and Seller. The sale of this compact explorer proved to be a rather complex transaction. Van der Vliet Dutch Quality Yachts guided the abroad registration, export and again temporarily import for refit work in the Netherlands. These services included customs, professional registration and all tax-related matters.
The last sale of this year was the Lowland 3150 (right photo), also a direct deal between Seller and Purchaser. The sale was completed, within 5 months of the start of the marketing campaign. This transaction highlighted the 1000th yacht that we have sold since 1975!
In 2017 we launched our new website. The updated site includes changes in the menu to improve the websites accessibility and larger image galleries to better showcase the highlights of the yachts for sale. Also under the ‘result’ button you can find a nice selection of the yachts we have sold over the last 40 years, including many multiple sales. Another new feature is this blog, where you can read our latest news and interesting articles about developments in the Dutch maritime industry, yards and yacht desginers.
