Our report provides a thorough and detailed analysis of the current market trends and insights, based on the latest sales data from the previous month. In April 2023, the Dutch yacht market saw the introduction of 9 new yachts for sale, consisting of 8 motor yachts and only 1 sailing yacht.
The highest priced yacht amongst the new listings is the 89m my HERE COMES THE SUN built by Amels and asking $195.000.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 21.58m Kerstholt motor yacht ZINGARA was the least expensive new listing with an asking price of €460.000, and also the shortest addition.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was once again Feadship, with 3 of their yachts newly listed for sale. Followed by Moonen Yachts, with 2 new listing.
From the 9 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in April, 4 yachts had a length between 21 and 26 meters and the other 5 measured between 36m and 90m.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 40% in the number of new listings.
In April 2023, a total of 7 Dutch-built yachts were sold, consisting of 2 sailing yachts and 5 motor yachts. Most of these sales took place in the second half of the month. Compared to March we see a slight increase in sales.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 67.5 meter Icon Yachts my ICON. It had an asking price of €45.000.000 and remained at this price throughout the 218 days it was for sale. This yacht was the second most expensive yacht sold in April 2023, following Heesen’s my PROJECT AKIRA, which had a final asking price of €56.900.000, and was for sale for 628 days. Its final asking price was roughly 108% of its original asking price of €52.500.000.
The shortest yacht sold was the 19,5 meter Sturiër Yachts ST501, which had an undisclosed asking price. The least expensive yacht sold last month was the Jongert Yachts COLOMBAIO, a 25 meter steel sailing yacht that was sold after 189 days on the market with an asking price of €450.000. She was previously withdrawn from the market in March 2022 after being on the market for 286 days and re-entered the market in September 2022.
On average, the yachts sold in April 2023 were on the market for 322 days, with the fastest sale being concluded in 97 days of the Holland Jachtbouw sy A SULANA. The yacht didn’t receive any price reductions during her time on the market.
There are 8 yachts under offer this month, all motor yachts.
The smallest yacht under offer is the 18.72m Altena Yachting my VRYBURG III. The yacht has been offered for sale since April 2018 and had a last asking price of €1.425.000.
The largest yacht currently under offer is still the 55m Heesen my RELIANCE. RELIANCE has been on the market since October 2022, with an asking price of €54.000.000.
In April 2023 we see that 3 yachts have been withdrawn from the market, also all motor yachts.
The yachts withdrawn from the market had a length between 32m and 62m.
The yacht that had been available for the longest period was my SEA WALK built by Oceanco. SEA WALK was listed for sale since 2018 with an initial asking price of €38.000.000. After 778 days, more than 2 years, on the market and 2 substantial price reductions, SEA WALK’s final asking price was set at €34.750.000, representing a decrease of 8.7% from its original price.
On the first of May, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 289 vessels for sale, of which 210 motor yachts and 79 sailing yachts.
Out of 1112 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 18.9% are currently offered for sale, and out of 402 sailing yachts, 19.7% are currently available for purchase.
Presently the largest sailing yacht available for purchase is still the 86m Oceanco AQUIJO. AQUIJO’s asking price is available on request and she has been listed for sale on the January 10th of this year.
The largest motor yacht available on the market is the towering 91,5 meter Oceanco my TRANQUILITY. This vessel has been for sale for 985 days with an asking price of €149.900.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, the smallest available yacht is the 18 meter sy DANUBIO II, built by Jongert Yachts. DANUBIO II is currently being offered with her asking price on request and has been listed for sale for 1.015 days.
Compared to the previous month, there was a decrease in the number of yachts entering the market and a slight increase in the number of yachts sold. Besides this, there is also a large selection of yachts currently under offer, indicating a potential ongoing increase in sales numbers for May.
Consequently, we can see a decrease of price changes and a smaller number of yachts that were withdrawn from the market this month compared to last month.
